Take Me Outside Student Video Contest

Take Me Outside is giving away ONE Grand Prize, 1st Place and Runner-Up Prizes.

The grand prize consists of:

a 3 day trip to Banff National Park for 1 student and 1 adult. In the case of a winning group or class entry, one student must be chosen and accompanied by one adult/teacher.
Airfare, accommodation, and complimentary tickets to the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival will be included.

1st place and runner-up winners in each category will receive a Mountain Equipment Co-op gear.

The Take Me Outside Student Video Contest ends at midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on September 17, 2021.

The Take Me Outside Student Video Contest is open to K-12 students in Canada in the 2020/21 school year and summer.

There are three categories: grades K-6 students, grades 7-12 students and grades K-12 classes.

GRADES K-6 STUDENT CATEGORY: You can seek help from your parent in filming and editing, provided the skill set of filming by your parent is still amateur.
GRADES 7-12 STUDENT CATEGORY: In making the submission, it should be filmed and edited solely by yourself.
GRADE K-12 CLASS CATEGORY: Submissions in this category can be submitted by teacher or student, but must be filmed and edited by the students or teacher in that class. Only one submission per class.

This contest can have either individual, group or class entries.

To participate in the Take Me Outside Student Video Contest

Your video submission must: a. Have English subtitles if made in a different language. b. Be a maximum of 4 minutes in length; c. Be consistent with the theme of ‘Canada’s Backyard – Show us why we have one of the best backyards in the world and how you like spending time in it.
All Videos must be submitted via YouTube: Make sure it is embeddable as the Videos will be posted on Take Me Outside’s website. (To do this, the embedding option can be selected under “Sharing Options” on the YouTube video upload page.) As well, under Privacy Settings, please select “Unlisted” so that your video isn’t made public. Only those with the link will be able to view the video.
