Prize Details

Each prize is awarded as a $3,328 Petro-Canada Gift Card, which represents an average year of fuel based on weekly fill-ups. There are nine prizes total, with distribution across provinces:

• One prize in Quebec

Contest dates

The contest runs from June 17, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. ET until September 29, 2025, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. The prize draws will take place shortly after the contest ends, and winners will receive their prize within four to six weeks of the draw.

Entry Rules

The contest is open to residents of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec who are the age of majority in their province of residence. To qualify, you must also be a registered Petro-Points member in good standing.

How do I enter the Petro-Canada – Free Gas for a Year Giveaway

There are two ways to enter this Petro Points Giveaway:

The easiest way is to spend at least $15 on lottery products at participating Petro-Canada locations during the contest period and swipe your Petro-Points card, Triangle Rewards card linked to Petro-Points, or RBC debit/credit card linked to Petro-Points. Each qualifying purchase earns you one ballot.

free entry

No purchase is necessary if you prefer the old-fashioned mail-in route.

Simply hand-write a unique description of why you like Petro-Points in 25 words or more, include your Petro-Points number, and mail it to the contest address provided in the rules. Each properly mailed entry earns one ballot.

Entry Limits

You’ll receive one ballot per qualifying purchase, even if you spend more than $15 at once. Mail-in entries are limited to one per envelope with sufficient postage.

Petro Points Promotion – Our Feedback

We think the Petro-Canada Free Gas for a Year contest is definitely appealing. Scoring $3,328 in free fuel could take a real bite out of commuting costs. We like how simple it is to enter—just swipe your Petro-Points when buying $15 or more in lottery products.

On the downside, the odds might be tough since the prizes are spread across provinces, and only lottery purchases count. So, if you buy other items at the Petro station, they will not be included in the draw. Still, we’d call it worth a try.
