Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Recipe Makeovers
There are always new Kraft Mac & Cheese contests going on, and that’s what got me thinking of some healthy makeover, more below. But first, you may want to check out the see the latestt KD contests here
Thousands of Canadian children and teens have grown up on weekly lunches of Kraft Dinners. It’s also one of these super fast and inexpensive comfort foods that seem to keep university students alive! Kraft Dinners, of course, mainly consists of pasta with a processed cheese sauce.
It’s a meal choice that makes many Dieticians cringe, but it’s not all bad. If your children ask for KD dinners over and over again (gosh, my son had a phase like that!!) here are some easy ideas I found to add some extra nutrition to this meal in a box. You can’t go wrong with adding your choice of steamed or microwaved vegetables and lean chicken, turkey and p0rk.
Or use the Mac& Cheese dinner as a side dish. For more creative, yet easy dinner ideas try some of the following
- Cheesy One-Pot Chicken Cacciatore This easy chicken cacciatore dish adds some extra lean protein and zucchini, 0nion and stewed tomatoes
- Cheesy Tuna Noodle Casserole Spruce up your Mac & Cheese with a frozen vegetable blend, KRAFT Lite Zesty Italian Dressing and white tuna.
- This dish can be ready in 10 minutes and you might have all these ingredients in your cupboards already
- Easy Layered Taco Bake Enjoy Mac & Cheese with a Mexican twist. Add ground beef, TACO BELL® Taco Seasoning Mix & salsa in the casserole. I might also add some corn and black beans!
