Home Hardware’s name became official November 9, 1967. Before that, Home Hardware was made of 122 Independent Ontario hardware retailers that bought Hollinger Hardware, a wholesaler. This dealer-owned, direct-from-manufacturer setup provided security for those in the retail business. Home Hardware is essentially an organization of independent businesses that supply local customers and communities.
This company sponsors charity organizations like Communities in Bloom, Special Olympics Canada, Tree Canada Foundation, and the Sick Kids Foundation. Annual food drivers are held to support the United Way and local charities.
